Best Places for Family Photos in and Around Buckeye, Arizona

One of the first questions I hear after a family books a session is:
“Where are we going to take our pictures?”
And honestly? I love this question.
Because living in Buckeye means we have SO many options.
Want mountains?
We've got them.
Want desert?
Obviously.
Want greenery, pretty paths, and something a little different?
Yep, we've got that too.
But here's something you might not know about TAQ Photography:
I Have a Few Spots I Don't Advertise. 😉
Yep. I'm keeping a few secrets.
There are certain locations I use for family sessions that I intentionally don't publish online.
Why?
Because I don't want to show up with your family and find 15 other photographers lined up at the exact same spot, waiting for the same patch of pretty light.
And I definitely don't want your family standing around waiting for another photographer to finish their session before we can even start.
No thank you.
I want your session to feel like YOUR session.
That's why I keep some of my favorite little spots off the internet.
They're not necessarily famous.
They're not always the locations you'll see plastered all over Pinterest.
But they can give us beautiful Arizona scenery, gorgeous light, privacy, and—most importantly—room for your family to actually relax.
So What Locations DO I Use?
There are plenty of public locations around Buckeye and the West Valley that can be absolutely beautiful for family photography.
Verrado
Verrado gives us a lot of variety.
Depending on the area and time of day, we can incorporate greenery, walking paths, architecture, desert scenery, and those beautiful White Tank Mountain views.
It's a great option when you want variety without spending your entire session driving around.
And for families with little kids, variety is HUGE.
We can walk.
We can play.
We can move from one area to another.
Instead of expecting your toddler to stand in one spot and smile for 45 minutes—which, let's be honest, is probably not happening. 😂
White Tank Mountain Regional Park
If you want that unmistakable Arizona look, White Tank Mountain Regional Park is hard to beat.
Desert landscape.
Mountains.
Wide-open views.
Beautiful golden light.
It's perfect for families who want their photographs to really feel like they were taken in Arizona.
Skyline Regional Park
Want mountains and a more rugged desert backdrop?
Skyline Regional Park is another great option.
It's especially beautiful if you want something that feels more adventurous and outdoorsy.
Tartesso
For families who want something a little more relaxed and neighborhood-oriented, Tartesso can be a great choice.
Sometimes you don't need a giant mountain range behind you.
Sometimes beautiful light, a little movement, and your family laughing together are all we need.
Buckeye Parks & Other West Valley Locations
There are also plenty of parks and open spaces throughout Buckeye, Goodyear, Litchfield Park, and the surrounding West Valley that can work beautifully depending on your family's needs.
And that's where my location knowledge comes in.
Because you don't have to know where we should go.
That's my job.
Why I Don't Just Tell Everyone My Favorite Spots
I know.
You're probably thinking:
“Wait, Anne. Why won't you just tell me where these secret spots are?” 😂
Because I want to protect them.
When a location becomes a popular photography spot, it can get crowded FAST.
And I don't want your family to spend the first 20 minutes of your session waiting for another photographer to finish.
I don't want you trying to avoid other families in the background.
I don't want you feeling rushed because someone else is waiting for the exact same piece of pretty light.
And I definitely don't want you looking at your gallery and realizing another photographer's family is accidentally hanging out in the background of half your pictures.
Nope.
I'd rather keep some of my favorite locations quiet.
That means when we arrive, we can focus on your family.
So Which Location Is Right for You?
That's something we'll figure out together.
I'll consider:
Your children's ages
Your family's personality
How much walking your kids can handle
Whether you want mountains or greenery
The season
The time of day
The type of photographs you're looking for
And whether you want a more popular location or one of my quieter spots
You don't have to spend your weekend driving around Buckeye trying to find the perfect place.
I've already done that for you.
And Here's the Best Part
The location doesn't have to be famous to make an amazing photograph.
I don't need a giant landmark behind you.
I need beautiful light.
A good backdrop.
Room for your family to move.
And a family willing to laugh, play, cuddle, and be themselves.
Because your family photographs aren't really about the location.
They're about you.
Your kids laughing.
Your baby's tiny hands.
Siblings being ridiculous.
Mom getting the cuddle she desperately needs.
Dad pretending he isn't having fun.
The chaos.
The connection.
The little moments you don't realize you'll miss until they're gone.
That's what I'm there to photograph.
Looking for a Family Photographer in Buckeye?
Whether you're in Buckeye, Verrado, Tartesso, Goodyear, Litchfield Park, or somewhere else in the West Valley, I'll help you find a location that fits your family.
And if you want one of my quiet, lesser-known locations?
You'll have to book with me to find out where I'm taking you. 😉
Because I may not advertise all my favorite spots online...
But I'll make sure your family gets to enjoy them.
You bring the family.
I'll bring the camera, the location ideas, and a plan for whatever your kids decide to throw at us that day.
Let's make some memories. 📸
